About Us
Northcote Stud is a family owned equestrian centre based in Old Langho, Blackburn. With extensive facilities, our ethos is to promote top level sport whilst providing an environment you enjoy visiting. We offer three fully-equipped arenas, all with the same fantastic Andrews Bowen Pro surface. From national level competition to on-site coaches, visiting clinicians and five-star livery, there is something for everyone at Northcote.

Emily Whiteside
Managing Director
From starting to ride at 8 years old, Emily is living her dream with Northcote Stud. She graduated from the Royal Agricultural University with a 2:1 honours degree in Equine Science and Business Management. Emily Says: "I have been riding for 20 years, 6 of them professionally, whilst working part-time as a marketing manager and breeding from home. I competed at international level show jumping events in both Europe and North America. I'm passionate about breeding horses too and have my own mares and stallions, as well as producing young horses." Emily is succeeding, with her young horses all the way through to Grand Prix level.
Ben Raistrick
Ben and Emily have been together for 3 years and together they run Northcote Stud. Ben has been involved with horses from an early age and has trained and worked with some of the best in the business. Ben competes nationally and internationally and regularly provides instruction to riders of all ages and levels. At home Ben will turn his hand to anything when he is not riding (and having a pint)!
Millie Coultherd
Events Co-ordinator
For most, the first person you'll speak to on the phone or meet in the show office is Millie. She joined us in April 2022 after completing University with a degree in Sports Events Management. She has mostly competed in British Eventing and has now quickly become a vital member of the team.
Danny Bone
Yard Manager
Danny plays the role of collecting ring steward at all of our events and does a tremendous job of making sure everyone enters the ring on time as well as being in charge of the arena maintenance and harrowing. Danny has worked at Northcote Stud for 6 years, having spent six years at a riding school as a Senior Coach and Assistant Manager. He previously worked freelance for two years, as well as running a livery yard where he experienced a mix of full, part, sales, breaking and competition liveries. Danny is hands on with getting all our young horses long reined and backed.
Chelsea Jones
Show Groom
Chelsea started with us in May 2023. Day to day, Chelsea is on the yard, but also attends all shows with Northcote and her attention to detail in the care and turn out of the horses is unmatched.
Alex Feeney
Yard Groom
Alex is part-time and has been with us from the start. Alex is very reliable, flexible and nothing is too much trouble for her. She is great with all the horses and helps us with anything and everything. Alex has horses of her own and does regular Dressage competitons.
Jess Bailey
Apprentice Yard Groom
Jess joined us in August 2024 to complete her course. She has been a great addition to the team, a hard worker and a pleasure to have around.
Fran Dixon
Yard Groom
Fran is part-time started with us in April 2023. She is always happy to work and loves being with the horses. You may also see Fran in the office when Millie has some time off!
